Short version: I collect as little as I can, I don't sell your data, and you can leave any time. Here's the longer version, in plain English.

Who this is

This site is Some Guy & AI, run by Tim. If you need to reach me about anything in here, email someguy@someguyandai.com.

What I collect

• Your email (and name, if you give it) when you sign up for the newsletter. This is handled through Beehiiv, my email provider.
• Whatever you send me when you contact me or ask about a website build, like your message and details about your business.
• Your name and email, only if you choose to share them with the AI assistant (the chat on the site) so I can follow up. The chat is powered by Anthropic's Claude, so what you type is sent to Anthropic to generate a reply. You never have to share anything to browse or ask questions.
• Basic usage data and cookies so I can see how the site is doing. These run through a cookie consent banner, and where the law requires it, only after you agree.

How I use it

To send you the newsletter, reply to you, build your website if you hire me, and make the site better. That's it. I don't sell your data or rent it out.

Who I share it with

Only the services that help me run this, and only so they can do their job:

• Beehiiv (email newsletter and signup)
• Vercel (website hosting)
• Anthropic (powers the AI chat assistant)
• CookieYes (the cookie consent banner)

The site uses a few cookies to function and to understand traffic. You can review or change your choices any time using Cookie Settings. More detail is on my Cookie Policy.

Your choices

You can unsubscribe from the newsletter any time using the link at the bottom of any email. You can also ask me to show you what I have on you, or to delete it, by emailing someguy@someguyandai.com. I'll take care of it.

Kids

This site is meant for adults and isn't directed at children under 16. If you're a parent and think your kid signed up, email me and I'll remove it.

Changes

If this policy changes, I'll update the date at the top. Big changes, I'll do my best to flag.
